The
Pickup |
Attach the two pickup
discs with super glue (cyanoacrylate) with their metal sides
facing the wood of the soundboard. One disc should be placed
in the area of the fourth-lowest bass string, while the other
should be applied to the center string area. Because the wood
in a harp is very absorbent, press the pickup against the soundboard
for at least two minutes while gluing them. Wait another five
minutes before affixing the jack, in order to avoid pulling
off the pickup discs. |
| Jack |
The 1/4" jack should be attached at the soundholes
edge using a self-adhesive dual-lock hook-and-loop strip.
If you want a permanent jack, you can drill through the harp
and solder the pickups cord to a standard 1/4"
jacks conductors.

| Usage Tips |
Practically any amp will
work for amplifying harps. Reverb and chorus effects sound especially
good with a harp, and using a pickup rather than a microphone
for this application enhances the effect. For P.A. and recording applications, a high-quality direct box such as as the D-TAR Solstice or Equinox is suggested. |
