Use super glue (cyanoacrylate) to adhere the pickups in the bridges’ openings, making sure that there is at least 10" of space between the upper and lower pickup pairs. This helps to balance the sound. In order to keep the cords from rattling, tape them down to the soundboard at three or four points.

Jack The two 1/4" jacks should be taped to the narrow sides of the instrument using self-adhesive dual-lock hook-and-loop strips.
Usage Tips Using two pickups for the hammer dulcimer provides an exceptionally spacious sound, whether plugged into a P.A. system, two amplifiers, a stereo amp, or a recording console. Because the bass and treble strings are picked up separately, they can be processed separately and placed in the stereo spectrum to suit your taste.
Note: Using a dual-mono-to-single-mono Y-cord allows you to run the pickups in mono mode. You can also run the pickups’ output to an electronic tuner to aid tuning the instrument. For P.A. and recording applications, a high-quality direct box such as as the D-TAR Solstice or Equinox is suggested.
